Broadband Home | Services | Coverage Area | Support | Contact Info | ERC Broadband FBEMC Broadband Coverage Area To qualify for service from French Broad EMC Broadband you must be located within a reasonable distance to our fiber optic backbone. Our fiber optic backbone runs through the towns of Marshall, Mars Hill, Burnsville and Bakersville. In the Marshall area the backbone runs from the main FBEMC office to the town of Marshall and then to US HWY 25-70 where it splits with one link spanning to Walnut and the other link reaching to Madison High School. In Mars Hill the backbone is near Mars Hill College. In Burnsville the fiber runs to our FBEMC office and continues to Micaville and then Bakersville. To determine if you are close enough to the backbone for service you will need to contact FBEMC to arrange a site survey so feasibility may be determined. Please see the map below for a very simplified illustration of where our fiber backbone is located. FBEMC Fiber Optic Backbone
