Bright Ideas in Education
French Broad began sponsoring the Bright Ideas grant program with the 1999-2000 school year. Bright Ideas grants are awarded annually to K-12 public school educators to help underwrite instructional projects the schools could not otherwise offer. French Broad EMC awards grants of up to $1500 each to fund projects in any discipline. Educators from thirty-seven schools in or near the FBEMC service area are eligible to apply. It is our sincere wish that the grants will enable our teachers to instill enthusiasm, excitement and a desire to learn in their students so that those students will have "bright ideas" of their own.
More information including an online application may be found at the statewide website, NCBrigthIdeas.com. Mary Brown with French Broad EMC will personally contact the principals of each of the co-op's eligible schools at the beginning of the each school year with complete information.
