Hurricane Florence Updates
Updated - September 17, 2018 - 11:20AM
The remnants of Hurricane Florence have now moved north of our service territory and our crews have been busy last night and this morning getting the last 50 or so customers back on line. Flooding in parts of Yancey County was severe and limited access to some areas. However, our guys waited the water level out and as soon as it was safe, were on the move to get power restored to the Pensacola area. Thank you to those customers located in these areas for your patience. Many of you were out of power for several hours and we could not give you an estimated time of restoration due to the inaccessibility of the area. Hopefully you are safe, dry, and can begin to assess any other damages you may have incurred.
Also a big thank you to all the folks at Yancey Emergency Management, Yancey Sheriff's Department, and NCDOT for making our job easier. It was a great team effort on everyone's part and they all did a fantastic job. Be proud Yancey County, they were on it!
