COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Bright Ideas Education Grants!
The Bright Ideas Education Grants are available to teachers in public schools, located in and near FBEMC’s service territory. Grants up to $1,500 are available for projects that traditional school funds don’t cover! Our goal is to enhance education by engaging students in meaningful learning projects that encourage creative approaches. In the past two decades, NC electric coops have contributed more than $12.9 million to teachers for 12,300 projects benefiting more than 2.5 million students.
To apply, teachers must submit a proposal explaining their goals, creative elements, implementation, and evaluation of the project. The application must include a budget, and approval from the school principal. Applications will be judged in a competitive evaluation process, and judges will be on the lookout for projects that feature innovation and creativity.
Funds requested for educator salaries, release time or professional development are not considered.
